6 Things to Learn from Jeremy Lin

- Never Give Up: After being released by the Warriors and the Rockets, it seemed like Jeremy's future in the NBA was shaky at best. He could've folded after going through these tough circumstances or he could have persevered and kept working hard. You see the fire in his eyes and know he picked option #2 and put in the work needed to get better at his craft. If you have passion and believe in whatever it is that you are doing, there should be no reason to give up regardless of the outside circumstances.
- Seize Your Opportunities: Baron Davis was hurt, and Toney Douglas's game was hurt. Who's next on the end of the bench? None other than J Lin. ALWAYS be ready to seize opportunities when they come. If Jeremy wasn't ready to do his job, his NBA career would have suffered greatly, but also millions of people wouldn't be inspired as we are today. The things you do can greatly impact others, so be ready to make your mark on this world.
- Give Thanks to God: It's funny how most of us love to take credit for everything that we do but if you think about it, everything we have is given by God. Of course we can work hard at what we do and we should, but we don't pick our parents and our genetic make up, we don't pick what country we get to be born and raised in and we don't really get to pick what kind of personality we have, it's just kind of innate. It's admiring that Jeremy deflects all praise to God when he could easily take all the credit to himself.
- Trust God's Strategy in your Life: If I told you two weeks ago that Jeremy Lin would be the biggest basketball, no, wait, forget basketball, biggest story PERIOD right now, you would tell me I am absolutely delusional but here we are. If things aren't going quite as you thought they would in your life, be still, be patient and know that God is on your side. He works in mysterious ways, and it is written, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him."
- Use your Gifts to Encourage and Help Others: The gifts God has given you are not just for yourself. Jeremy's basketball skills are making all of his teammates better and that's his greatest asset on the court. On top of that, his humility and genuine character are so inspirational to everyone, literally millions of people. I don't think I've met anyone that dislikes Jeremy, but I haven't been to Toronto or Minnesota recently either. Likewise, the gifts God has given you should be used to impact as many people as possible.
- Ordinary People can Make Extraordinary Impact: Jeremy is just a perfect example of the motto that krapyDNA goes by. Ordinary people can really make an extraordinary impact on this world. Just let God work in your life and He'll take care of the rest.
